Kale, spinach, scrambled eggs with mushrooms and chicken breast.
You don’t always need a gym membership to exercise.
This week’s run is short and fast. If you aren’t winded by the end of the sprint, that’s not going to cut it. Push harder and dig deeper!!
I’d like to set the record straight on the above question. Here goes…
No. It absolutely drives me crazy when clients, friends, and anyone under the sun who is trying to lose weight or improve their physique weigh themselves daily. Your weight will fluctuate on a day to day basis regardless of what your body fat is. The fluctuation can range anywhere from 1 – 5 lbs and can be caused by hormones, sodium intake, water retention and/or large meals that have yet to digest.
If you’ve been diligent on your clean eating habits don’t worry. In all likelihood the “weight gain” is due to water retention, waste products or other substances that are temporarily present in your body. In my humble opinion weighing yourself daily is misleading, discouraging and detrimental to a weight loss plan. Basically what happens is even though your body is physically changing, daily weigh-ins start to fuck with your head if you disagree with the number. If you really want to weigh yourself try doing it once every 2-3 weeks. I never weigh myself and as I write this I couldn’t tell you my current weight if my life depended on it.
When you don’t agree with the scale your negative thoughts begin to seep into your consciousness. Before long they start dictating your mood causing you to think that your efforts are worthless. You then justify the fact that it’s all a waste of time because you really want to eat that greasy ass piece of pizza and since you aren’t losing weight you might as well. Stop it! Avoid this and be strong! It really isn’t rocket science. I’ve changed so many bodies in my life that it’s a simple formula: Consistency and Discipline work every single time. I promise. So instead of gauging it by the scale, notice how your clothes are fitting you. Measure how many inches you’ve lost and base your progress on how you’re feeling overall. Anything worth fighting for must be earned. It tastes much better that way… pun intended.
